We manage the University of Auckland Inventors’ Fund, a $40 million pre-seed and seed stage investment fund that is open-ended and evergreen, meaning returns from investments made are reinvested into the next generation of companies and technologies.

Contestable Funding
The University of Auckland Research Funding, Prizes and Awards Team supports University researchers to compete and succeed in securing national and international contestable funding.
While supporting applications to more than 170 funding schemes, the team makes a major commitment to the funds managed by the Health Research Council, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) Endeavour Fund and Royal Society Te Apārangi. By providing advice and support to researchers and their faculties about funding rounds, the team aims to ensure that applications submitted are of high quality and meet all eligibility criteria.
The team makes a major commitment to the funds managed by the Health Research Council (HRC), the MBIE Endeavour Fund and Royal Society Te Apārangi and manages these and other opportunities under three main portfolios: Health, International and Domestic. If you’re investigating a specific opportunity, the University of Auckland Contracts Team can support you to manage all aspects of contracting when engaging with external clients or funders for research and academic services. This includes the negotiation and execution of a range of contractual documents.
Contract managers also provide advice and guidance on contractual and legal matters, including intellectual property rights, confidentiality and publications, to ensure the best outcomes for all parties. Other types of contracts might be handled at the faculty level.
